What is Multi-Domain Data?
Definition
Multi-domain data refers to information from multiple enterprise data domains—such as product, supplier, customer, location, organization, and other data—that can be managed and related within a common data environment. Connecting domains provides additional business context that isolated records cannot provide on their own.
Cross-domain relationships provide context without making every domain share identical fields. For example, an autonomous product data operation could take a product linked to its supplier and stocking locations, use authorized relationships to determine affected destinations, and prepare appropriate updates for the connected business context.
