What is Enterprise Integration?

Definition

Enterprise Integration links systems such as ERP, CRM, PIM, and WMS to create a unified digital ecosystem. By enabling real-time data flow, it eliminates silos and improves operational accuracy across the supply chain. In PIM, it ensures product data, inventory, pricing, and updates travel smoothly across all enterprise systems.

Enterprise integration must accommodate different system responsibilities and operational dependencies. For example, an autonomous product data operation could take a product launch spanning ERP, PIM, and commerce, coordinate authorized record exchanges in the required sequence, and record system-specific acknowledgments and unresolved exceptions.
