What is Data Integration?
Definition
Data integration combines information from different systems—ERP, CRM, DAM, supplier feeds—into a unified view. It ensures product data flows smoothly across environments. PIM relies on integrations to manage omnichannel operations efficiently.
Integration combines transport with the semantic rules needed to use exchanged information. For example, an autonomous product data operation could take an ERP item export and supplier specification feed, join records using approved identifiers and field mappings, and produce a validated working product record.
