What is ETIM (ElectroTechnical Information Model)?
Definition
ETIM is a global classification standard for technical and electrical products. In PIM systems, ETIM ensures that such products follow uniform attribute structures and category definitions. This improves data quality, interoperability, and seamless data exchange with distributors, partners, and online channels.
ETIM classification depends on the applicable model version, class, features, and units. For example, an autonomous product data operation could take supplier specifications for an industrial luminaire, propose its ETIM class and map supported feature values, and route ambiguous classifications for specialist review.
