What is Data Lineage?
Definition
Data lineage tracks the origin, movement, and transformation of data across systems. It provides transparency into how product information changes over time. PIM uses lineage for compliance, auditing, and resolving data conflicts.
Lineage follows a value through its sources and transformations, not just its latest edit. For example, an autonomous product data operation could take a published product dimension, trace it to the supplier field and unit-conversion rule, and explain how the released value was produced.

- Step 1:
Input
A published product dimension
- Step 2:
Data Lineage
Trace it to the supplier field and unit-conversion rule
- Step 3:
