What is User Interface (UI)?
Definition
The visual and interactive layer through which users engage with the PIM system. It includes layout, menus, buttons, dashboards, and visual styling that support efficient data workflows. A well-designed UI enhances usability, clarity, and productivity for all product data stakeholders.
The interface exposes system state and available actions without replacing the underlying workflow controls. For example, an autonomous product data operation could take a catalog operation paused for approval, show the proposed changes and explicit approve or return actions, and record the chosen action and update the visible status.
