What is SOC 2 Compliant PIM?
Definition
SOC 2 Compliant PIM is commonly used to describe a product-information service covered by a SOC 2 assurance report. SOC 2 assesses controls against the applicable Trust Services Criteria, with the selected criteria, report type, scope, and assessment period determining what was evaluated. The report and its exceptions must be reviewed to understand the assurance provided.
SOC 2 is an assurance report with a defined scope and period, not a product feature certification. For example, an autonomous product data operation could take evidence requested for a product-workflow controls review, collect relevant authorized access and change records, and support the assessor's review without claiming that logs establish SOC 2 assurance.
