What is Product Family?
Definition
A product family groups related SKUs under a single product or model within a taxonomy. It helps manage variants such as size, colour, or configuration. PIM uses families to simplify enrichment, mapping, and catalog organisation.
A family groups related products while preserving the attributes that distinguish individual items. For example, an autonomous product data operation could take high-bay fixtures offered in several wattages, group them under the approved family and identify shared fields, and keep wattage and SKU-specific values on the correct children.
