What is Product Catalog Management?
Definition
Product catalog management focuses on organising, maintaining, and updating product data across all channels. A PIM centralises this process to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely changes. It supports better merchandising, quicker launches, and error-free omnichannel operations.
Catalog management controls assortment, record structure, and ongoing product-information changes. For example, an autonomous product data operation could take new fixtures and updated legacy items, maintain categories, lifecycle states, and approved record content, and prepare a consistent eligible assortment for delivery.
