What is Data Orchestration?
Definition
Data orchestration automates the movement and transformation of data across multiple systems. It ensures workflows run smoothly, from ingestion to enrichment to syndication. PIM platforms rely on orchestration to manage complex catalog operations.
Orchestration coordinates dependencies and recovery across tasks and services. For example, an autonomous product data operation could take a product-launch request requiring images and specifications, coordinate extraction, enrichment, review, and destination preparation, and start delivery only when the required approvals are complete.
