What is Data Augmentation?
Definition
Data augmentation enhances product information by adding extra attributes, reference data, or third-party content. This helps improve completeness and detail in catalogs without manual work. In PIM, it supports richer product experiences and better search performance.
Augmentation adds complementary information while keeping the origin of each addition clear. For example, an autonomous product data operation could take product records missing classification codes, add candidate codes from an authorized reference dataset, and retain provenance and review uncertain matches.
