What is Attribute Mapping?
Definition
Attribute Mapping connects attributes from one data source (such as a supplier spreadsheet) to the correct attributes in the PIM system. This ensures that incoming data is correctly aligned, structured, and validated. Effective mapping reduces onboarding time and prevents data mismatch across systems.
A mapping connects source and target attributes, including any required conversions. For example, an autonomous product data operation could take a supplier field named Lamp Output, map its lumen value to the target luminous-flux attribute, and flag records where the source unit is unclear.

- Step 2:
Attribute Mapping

- Step 3:
Outcome
Flag records where the source unit is unclear
