Data Integration
Every source, translated into your data model before it lands.
Autonera maps source fields to target attributes, transforms values on the way in, and lets you preview and validate the result against real rows before a single record changes.
How it works
Map an ERP extract and preview the output
Apply the proposed mapping or build it yourself. Change targets and transforms, switch sample rows, and watch validation catch missing targets, type errors and unconverted units before anything loads.
- ITEM_NO"PF-1102"Ignored
- DESC_1" PIPE FLANGE SLIP-ON 2IN CL150 "Ignored
- WT_LB"5.5"Ignored
- DIA_IN"2"Ignored
- THRD(blank)Ignored
- LIST_PRC"$48.90"Ignored
Validation across all sample rows
- Required target "SKU" is not mapped
- Required target "Product name" is not mapped
- Required target "Net weight (kg)" is not mapped
The capability
Mapping and transformation as governed configuration
Data Mapping & Transformation defines how data from ERP systems, supplier files, partner feeds and other sources becomes attribute values in Autonera's product and master data model. Each mapping links a source field to a target attribute and can apply one or more transformations along the way.
Transformations cover the work integration teams usually script by hand: trimming and casing text, converting units of measure, parsing prices and dates, splitting and concatenating fields, and looking up values against controlled vocabularies or reference data.
Mappings are previewed on real sample rows and validated before they run. Missing required targets, numeric fields that would receive text and unit mismatches are surfaced up front. Approved mappings are versioned and reused for scheduled and event-driven integrations, so the same source is always interpreted the same way.
Problems it solves
Where this work usually breaks down
Transformation logic buried in scripts
Unit conversions and cleansing rules live in integration code that only a few people can read or change.
Errors found after the load
Bad mappings are discovered when wrong weights or prices appear in channels, long after the file was processed.
Every new source starts from scratch
Each supplier or system requires new mapping work, even when its fields are similar to ones already handled.
No traceability from value to source
When a value is questioned, there is no record of which column and transform produced it.
Functional capabilities
What Data Mapping & Transformation includes
- Source-to-target mapping
- Map fields from files, APIs and connected systems to attributes in your model, including nested and multi-valued data.
- Transformation library
- Apply cleansing, casing, parsing, splitting, concatenation, defaults and conditional logic without custom code.
- Unit-of-measure conversion
- Convert dimensions, weights, volumes and pressures into the units your model stores.
- Lookups and reference data
- Translate source codes into controlled vocabulary values and standard references.
- Live preview on sample rows
- See the transformed output for real source rows before the mapping is saved or run.
- Pre-run validation
- Detect unmapped required targets, duplicate targets, type mismatches and unit inconsistencies.
- Versioned, reusable mappings
- Save mappings per source, track changes and reuse them across scheduled and event-driven integrations.
- Lineage per value
- Record which source field and transformation produced each attribute value.
In industrial operations
Bringing a pipe and fittings ERP onto a new product model
A distributor of pipe, valves and fittings migrates item data from a legacy ERP with uppercase descriptions, imperial units and inconsistent price formats into a structured product model.
- Autonera proposes mappings for the ERP extract based on column names, sample values and earlier mappings.
- The integration lead adjusts the thread lookup, which had lower confidence, and keeps the unit conversions.
- Validation flags a row with a blank weight; the lead decides to load it and route it to enrichment rather than block the batch.
- The approved mapping is versioned and used for nightly delta loads from the ERP.
Result: Item data loads in the model's units and vocabulary, and every value can be traced to its ERP column and transform.
Autonomous operations
How autonomous execution changes data mapping & transformation
Agents propose mappings for new and changed sources, explain their confidence and adapt known mappings when a source changes, with changes held for approval.
Agents carry out
- Propose mappings and transforms for new sources
- Detect added, renamed or retyped source fields
- Validate output on every run
- Route failing rows to exception handling
People decide
- Approve new and changed mappings
- Own unit, lookup and vocabulary rules
- Decide how failing rows are handled
Evidence recorded
- Mapping version used for each run
- Source field and transform per value
- Validation results and exceptions per run

Buyer FAQs
Questions evaluators ask
Do mappings require custom code?
No. Mappings and common transformations are configured, previewed and validated without code. Complex cases can still use conditional logic.
Can Autonera propose mappings automatically?
Yes. Autonera proposes mappings and transforms with a confidence level based on field names, sample values and previous mappings. Proposals are reviewed before use.
How are units of measure handled?
Unit conversion is a transformation step, so source values in inches or pounds can be stored in millimeters or kilograms as your model requires.
What happens when a source file changes structure?
Added, renamed or retyped fields are detected, and changes to the mapping are proposed for approval instead of failing silently.
Are mappings reused across integrations?
Yes. Approved mappings are versioned per source and reused for scheduled, file-based and event-driven integrations.
