What is Product Data Accuracy?
Definition
Product data accuracy measures how correct, reliable, and up-to-date product information is. High accuracy eliminates discrepancies across systems, reduces returns, and improves trust. PIM enforces data validation, rules, and workflows to achieve consistently accurate data.
Accuracy means agreement with the real product; completeness or valid formatting alone cannot establish it. For example, an autonomous product data operation could take a voltage value that conflicts with an approved technical sheet, compare the record with the authoritative specification, and request correction rather than accepting a merely well-formatted value.
