Glossary term
What is Machine Learning?
Definition
AI-driven algorithms that recognize patterns in product data to automate classification, enrichment, and mapping. Improves data accuracy by predicting attributes and detecting inconsistencies. Supports scalable onboarding, faster categorization, and smarter product content creation.
Models infer patterns from training data and can make uncertain or incorrect predictions. For example, an autonomous product data operation could take uncategorized fixtures with supplier descriptions, predict candidate categories using a trained classification model, and route low-confidence predictions for review.
