What is Low-Code Taxonomy?

Definition

A taxonomy system that allows business teams to create, modify, and deploy category structures with minimal IT support. Speeds up updates to product hierarchies, attributes, and schemas using visual interfaces. Enables agile product data governance and quick adaptation to new catalog or marketplace requirements.

Low-code editing reduces implementation effort but does not remove governance responsibilities. For example, an autonomous product data operation could take a proposed lighting category with new required attributes, apply the approved taxonomy configuration through low-code tools, and validate affected products before releasing the change.
